My interest in photography began in my teen years around 30 BD (before digital). My first photos were taken with an Ansco Pioneer box camera that belonged to my parents. By the way, I still have this camera in my possession along with some slides I took around the same time with a different camera.

Since I am a child of the film era, I can still remember the excitement of getting your photos back from the developer. Though I shot predominatley slides, you really had to wait until they appeared on that big white screen to see the full results of your labor. But, as with most items in life, technology changes. I entered into the digital age with a total impulse buy at a Walmart while on vacation in the late 90's. My first digital camera was a whopping 1.3 MP and used a floppy disc to record the images. Man was I cutting edge. Now I'm a Canon fanatic and my dream day would be having an unlimted credit card at B&H Photo in New York City.

My photographic interests have always been towards journalism and landscapes. I find it amazing that anyone with a camera in hand can record for posterity, at precise moment, an incident or scene that will never be repeated. And quite possibly be the only one there to capture it. That is the art and power of photography.
